About the Coalition
A Bit of Background
The Muncie Maternal Mental Health Coalition was founded in September of 2019. Our goal is to promote and nurture the emotional well-being of all mothers, fathers, children and families in the Muncie community with coordinated and comprehensive mental health services accessible throughout the perinatal period and beyond. We strive to improve mental health resources, systems, and policies for new parents through community partnership, education, outreach and advocacy. Our coalition includes local parents, mental health professionals, researchers, and educators who are passionate about improving the quality of life for parents in our community.
Climb Out of the Darkness
The Muncie Maternal Mental Health Coalition is working to raise awareness about how common perinatal mood and anxiety disorders really are. We want you to know that you are not alone! We strive to create a community where you can feel supported and have access to the resources you need to help your family thrive! Each year, on the first Saturday of May, we will host a walk to gather survivors, supporters and providers to shine a light on a darkness that we don't often talk about. Our inaugural walk on May 1, 2021 was a HUGE success! We hope you will join us in 2022!!
